Lesson On Painting The Eye
Let’s Get Started!
I’m so happy you are here on this art making journey! I will be guiding you though a process of painting the eye in oils. Eyes are my favorite thing to paint and I’m sure that you will enjoy the process as well. We will be going step by step so you can take it at your own pace.
We will be learning how to create an underpainting which is a foundation of values that can then be painted on top of with color. We will be learning about mixing paints to create skin tones that are both warm and cool to create depth and luminosity. I will be show you the process of paint application that I use to create the illusion. Painting is such a beautiful experience. I hope you enjoy!
Supplies
A note about supplies. The better quality supply you use in oil painting, I believe the better result. I have not been one to splurge on supplies, but as I grow and care more and more about my experience, I do spend a bit more than I used to. You can work with what you have if that is what you desire. Colors can be mixed from any variety of paint colors. I am sharing below what I use and it’s what I’m enjoying at the moment.
